💋 Our brains release a combo of neurotransmitters: Dopamine, Oxytocin, and Serotonin 

💋 Dopamine is deeply rooted in the way we feel pleasure and our reward systems 

💋 Oxytocin is frequently known as the “love drug” this can stir up feelings of love and affection and is also released during breast-feeding and orgasm to foster attachment 

💋 Serotonin makes you feel happy and euphoric 

💋 Cortisol levels which are often heightened during stress decrease as well helping to make you feel at ease 

So the next time you’re feeling down or stressed, go steal a kiss from your partner, your pet, or even just kiss yourself! Did you know this?

✨Try on a different style than you would normally rock and embody that persona- I had fun with some colored contacts and a pink wig to create these broody alter ego of mine.

#DryJanuary has officially come to a close and if you participated, congrats we did it! You’ve earned yourself a cocktail and I just couldn’t resist making you one with a gin as aesthetically pleasing as @empress1908gin which is formulated with 8 botanicals and is natural and gluten-free. 

And in the spirit of Valentine’s month, I named this one Stupid Cupid, swipe through to see this beautiful cocktail close up and get a recipe card to save for later 

What you’ll need 
✨1 oz of strawberry rosemary simple syrup
✨1.5 oz of Empress 1908 gin 
✨Sparkling water 

Steps to create 
✨ To make the simple syrup add 1 cup of strawberries, 1/4 cup of sugar, 1/4 cup of water, 1/2 tbsp of rosemary into a small saucepan and bring to a simmer then reduce to low for about 15-20 minutes, strain syrup through sieve and put in a mason jar in the fridge to cool) 
✨ Fill glass with ice 
✨ Add simple syrup in the glass 
✨ Layer gin next 
✨ Fill to top with sparkling water
✨ Garnish with strawberry and rosemary

I’ve been at war with body for as long as I can I’ve been at war with body for as long as I can remember. 

I grew up always comparing myself to other girls. I always thought I was too stumpy, too short, my legs were too stocky, and my face was too round. I picked myself apart and found so many things to hate. My self-talk was so toxic and so vitriolic. I ate to survive and I worked out to punish myself. 

The other day, I was journaling and the prompt was about practicing gratitude in your physical body. And so I began to write a letter to my body. One that I’ve shared in the next slide and hope it resonates with you. 

We need to be kinder to ourselves. Our bodies are not our enemies. We are capable of so much more than we can even imagine. Try talking to yourself the way you would talk to a best friend. If it’s not something you would say to them, you have no business saying it to yourself. Today is also #BellLetsTalk day and I wanna make sure that everyone knows my DMs are always open, your feelings are valid, and you’re worthy ❤️ What’s something you love about your body?
