My favorite CBD products for relaxation

October 5, 2020 in Lifestyle, Mental Health and Wellness
CBD products

I don’t know about you guys but this year has been stressful AF and between the pandemic, an election year, and tropical storms/hurricanes, it seems like 2020 just keeps throwing the punches. Adding insult to what already feels like a particularly injurious year, I’m turning 30 in less than a month so, face…meet a brick wall.

I’ve struggled really hard with letting go of my 20s. If it feels like a decade is ending, it’s because it is. But in my haze of depression about aging and my monthly existential crises, I’ve made a commitment to myself. And what is that commitment you might ask? To make more time for myself and relax.

As a perpetual busy bee and people-pleaser with chronic anxiety and migraines, it is up to me to figure out how to slow down before I drive myself to an early death.

CBD and Relaxation

In the past couple of years, I’ve been using CBD to manage my mental health and migraines. CBD is linked to a variety of health benefits and the improvement of many different types of illnesses, but the number of products in the market can be overwhelming. There’s tinctures, edibles, lotions, balms, bath bombs, vapes, and everything in between. In addition, because it’s not FDA-regulated, the quality and potency can widely differ from product to product or company to company. That’s why it is so important to buy products that are trusted and verified. These are some of my tried and true products that I absolutely love and that I’m maintaining as part of my commitment to enter my next decade, more chill.

CBD Gummy Candy

Truth be told, I’m a sucker for candy. I definitely have one of the biggest sweet tooths in the world and it has only gotten bigger throughout the pandemic. The flavor of the HoneyRoot CBD gummy candy is similar to sour tropical punch Koolaid which as a sour candy aficionado, I can totally get behind. The thing I love about gummies is you know exactly how much CBD you are ingesting without having to do the guesswork. CBD can sometimes be more sedating so I incorporated these into my evening routine about an hour before bed and I blissfully drifted off to Dreamland.

CBD lube

Wait, hold up girl! They put CBD in what?! Yes, I am talking about sexual lubricant and if you learn one thing from this blog post, let it be this. Toca CBD lube + willing partner/trusty toy or both = incredible sex. Your pelvic muscles will relax and you will feel a slight tingly feeling. (When I say tingly I mean it, not like when warming gel says tingling and they really mean fire in the hole.) Every thrust, vibration, and sensation will take you over the edge. This is especially helpful for all my ladies who have struggled/are struggling with painful sexual intercourse. It has made a huge difference in my experience, personally. Plus, doing the deed leads to all kinds of feel-good hormones like oxytocin being released during a post-pleasure session. So go ahead treat yourself, your mental and physical wellbeing will thank you.

CBD lotion

A combination of OCD and pandemic hand washing has done a number on my skin. Bella CBD Crema lotion has helped rejuvenate my dry cracked and bleeding skin. It has become a go-to in my daily skincare regimen. And as the Fall turns into Winter, skin hydration will only become more important. I have also seen its benefits in reducing joint pain. My mother-in-law struggles with MS and physical pain is very common. She can attest to the immediate benefits of a CBD lotion. Just apply liberally to any area that ails you and enjoy the short and long term benefits.

The best part? My friends at MedAmour were sweet enough to provide me with a discount code. Promo code: roseandruffles will get you $10 off of a $50 purchase and free U.S. shipping over $55. Now that I’ve shared all my must-have CBD products with you, what are you going to try first?

At least that’s what my grandma thinks. When ask At least that’s what my grandma thinks. When asked what the key is to a long and healthy life, my 97 year old grandma would tell you to always eat dessert first.

And when it comes to ice cream, @Vanleeuwenicecream doesn’t mess around. This is the best ice cream spot in town, hands down. I love their new flavors but I also like that they have seasonal flavors and something for our vegan frands. I got a double scoop with toasted marshmallow s’mores and chocolate fudge brownie and it was so good, a definite must try!

Also, for the entire month of August, you can enjoy a $3 single scoop Monday through Friday from 3-7 p.m. at its three Houston scoop shops (Rice Village, Uptown Park, Montrose)

So what flavor is your go to for ice cream? #vanleeuwenicecream

✨ The frozen drinks by the pool are watered down so always ask for a shot of tequila on the side and just add to your frozen drink (some of my faves were the hibiscus marg or spicy jalapeño. You can also aim for beer in cans or champagne/prosecco
