Happy November! And Happy almost Thanksgiving. This holiday never really gets proper recognition being sandwiched in between Halloween (Aka the best holiday) and Christmas. But before we deck the halls and fa, la, la, let’s stop and give some credit to Thanksgiving. Come on people! We are talking about the best American food holiday that exists! To me, there’s nothing better than fasting all day so you can stuff yourself to extremes and then watch football or take a nap. And lest we forget about how great the leftovers are in the week post-Thanksgiving.
I’m not sure about you, but in our family, dressing for the meal can be a bit of an ordeal. Does it make sense that you have to put on a full outfit with shoes to transport yourself from the couch to the dining table? Probably not, but we do it anyway. If you are searching for that perfect holiday outfit, then never fear! I’ve got three Thanksgiving outfit options that will help take the decision making out of your wardrobe so you can focus your time on how to dodge questions about your dating life or when you’re having kids from drunk relatives. And a bonus, you’ll have plenty of room in these comfy and cute pieces so you really can, gobble till you wobble.
Thanksgiving outfit option 1: Sweater Dress
Sweater dresses are the perfect Thanksgiving outfit because, hello?! No pants. Nothing restricts you from eating a disgusting amount of food! I’m all for that! Finding a sweater dress that is the right length and not too tight can be a bit tricky for a petite person.
That’s why I was so pleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon this amazing black wrap sweater dress from Loft. The wrap silhouette is so flattering and black is always very slimming. This flecked detail is also a unique touch. You can pair it with over the knee boots or black heeled booties to bring this look together. I am wearing a size Small Regular and would say it fits true to size. This dress is also currently 40% off which makes it under $50, what a steal!
Thanksgiving outfit option 2: Tunic and Leggings
A tunic and leggings are a nice option if you’re not into dresses or want to keep it slightly more casual. This buffalo plaid tunic from the Loft is flowy and festive! The tunic is a size XS and very oversized. If you are in-between sizes, I would size down unless you are well endowed in your chest region.
I decided to pair this tunic with the Spanx faux leather leggings. I have raved about this in the past (see how I styled these three ways) These leggings are a size medium and I would definitely size up, as they can be tight. If you’re not into faux leather, you can totally pair any other black leggings with this outfit and booties or over the knee boots to complete the look.
Thanksgiving outfit option 3: Ultra-lounge 1 Piece Jumpsuit
This is for the ultra-casual setting! Where you want to be able to transition from the table back to the couch for a nap with ease. I present to you, the sweat jumpsuit. This black number is super comfy and still stylish. It cinches in the waist so you still maintain your shape without excess bagginess but still have room for all the turkey, stuffing and pie you could possibly desire. I purchased this one from a boutique in North Texas but have found a much similar item on American Eagle’s website. The jumpsuit I’m wearing is a size medium. Capri length is also a possibility if you desire.
There you have it! 3 ways to eat like a pig but look like an absolute queen! Everything is linked in the post so you can easily shop without ever having to leave your seat! Let me know in the comments if you are a dress up or dress casual family?
