Howdy partners! If you’re local to Houston then you know that Houston Rodeo is officially in full swing! If you don’t know what the Houston Rodeo is, it’s one month of music, livestock, fried everything and questionably put together carnival rides and games. It really is so much fun!
If you’re wracking your brain for what you’re going to wear to the rodeo, don’t worry! I’ve got you covered. Today’s post is a round-up of my favorite rodeo outfits. If you don’t have a rodeo where you live, never fear! These outfits could just as easily be worn at country concerts, state fairs or anything similar. Everything is linked throughout the post for your convenience! Yee Haw!
Rodeo Outfit #1 Denim Skirt, printed tee, and boots
Kicking off the round-up with this casual but cute choice. I’ve got to admit this is the first time I’ve put on a denim skirt since like 2008 but I’m not mad about it. This one is a steal for around $15! I am wearing a size 6 and it fits a little loose in the waist so if you are in between sizes, I would size down.
Printed tees are comfortable, cute and understated. This one is so soft and, “Everything’s bigger in Texas” is the perfect saying for the rodeo or any similar type event! Unfortunately, this exact top is out of stock but I have linked another option that is still available and has a similar fit. Wearing a small in this top and it is an oversized fit and long so I would select your normal size unless you’re looking for a tight fit. I decided to front tuck the shirt into the skirt but you could wear it long as well or tie it up in the back. The choice is up to you.
Now onto shoes! When I went to the rodeo cook-off last year, I decided to wear some really cute platform boots. Needless to say after walking through the rodeo grounds and some pretty gnarly blisters and aching soles, I learned my lesson! Flat boots are best! You don’t have to sacrifice comfort for cuteness. So when I stumbled upon these adorable booties, I knew they would pair perfectly with any rodeo outfit! Wearing a size 6.5 and they run true to size.
Rodeo Outfit #2 Floral romper and boots
If you’re not feeling the comeback of the denim skirt, then these next options are probably more up your alley. Everybody loves a good romper. Sometimes finding one that is flattering on my small frame can be a little challenging. This pink floral romper could be beautifully flattering on anybody because of how loose and flouncy it is.
Rompers are a great choice because of how much you are moving around at the rodeo like getting on and off rides, etc. The only thing I would caution is that with rompers come great responsibility, just kidding not really. But you will likely have to use a port-a-potty and we all know with rompers the logistics of being fully naked in port-a-potty. So, just keep that in mind.
This romper is from Burlap Rose Boutique and cost under $40 so it’s a perfect budget-friendly option and could easily transition as a nice outfit for Spring post-rodeo season. I also paired this with the aforementioned boots earlier in the post.
Rodeo Outfit #3 Floral Dress and boots
This option would be perfect for a rodeo concert day where you’re not climbing in and out of places a lot but, you still wanna twirl around and dance. Love the ruffles and the feminine print, wrap dresses like these are always so flattering.
This dress is an XS and I’d say it fits true to size. However, my bustier ladies, I would size up as the top fits a little tight. I barely got away with the XS because of my chest size which is around a 34C. I would also wear a deeply cut bra or a
And that concludes my rodeo outfit round-up. Whichever of the pieces you end up going with, I’m sure you will look amazing. Let me know in the comments which outfit was your favorite! And be sure to check out this other post for some great outfit inspiration!
