Hi everyone! So there’s a trend I see popping up everywhere and on every body type and that is faux leather leggings! Honestly, I am so here for it. Leather pants aren’t just for biker babes anymore! They are a super versatile item that you are going to want to have in your closet, trust me!
If you follow other fashion bloggers, then you have probably heard them wax poetic about the Spanx brand leather leggings. People go gaga over these things so I set out to understand what all the hype was about. A pair was gifted to me over Christmas and I am a believer! My only suggestion is to try to wait until they go on sale because they are pricey but they are thick and they don’t bag at the knees or feel like plastic like some faux leather tends to do.
However, I digress. That is not what you came here for. You came here to learn how to style faux leather leggings. Whether Spanx brand or not, totally beside the point. Today I am going to share three different ways you can style a pair of faux leather leggings whether you are working, working out or, just
1. Casual Wear
Whether you decide to run a mile, chase a toddler, or just run around a Target this outfit will work for you. I love how versatile these leggings are. You can dress them up or dress them down just by adding different layers and accessories.
For this look, I chose to style the faux leather leggings with a heather gray cardigan, a black tank top, and some high-top sneakers. I am wearing a size small in the cardigan and would say it fits true to size. Faux l
2. Work Wear
Please note this is for the ladies who have a business casual vibe at work. Faux l
For this look, I chose to style the leather leggings with a long asymmetrical cardigan, a black shell, a skinny belt, and some classic black pumps. The layers here are great for highlighting your curves but keeping it work appropriate. The cardigan is a small and unfortunately, I got it at TJMaxx so there’s no way for me to link this exact one but I will share some other similar options. Long cardigans and duster cardigans will work the best to recreate this look. As far as the belt goes, any skinny belt will do!
3. Weekend Wear (aka Girl’s Night Out)
Because it’s a Girl’s Night outfit I wanted to get a little funky with it and definitely throw some sequins in the mix! This outfit is perfect for going clubbing with the ladies or heading to a nice dimly, lit wine bar to eat very little and talk way too much!
For this look, I chose to style the faux leather leggings with a sequined tank top, 3/4th length sleeve black blazer and a pair of sky-high platform boots. This outfit has just enough twinkle without being tacky and we all know when it comes to sequins, there is a fine line! The top is a size small and I have linked similar options below if you’re not feeling the multi-color vibes. Blazer is a medium and fits tight around the shoulders, so if you are broader in the shoulders size up one.
Level up in Leather Leggings
I just provided you with three ways to style faux leather leggings, but the possibilities are virtually endless. Bottom line, wear whatever makes you feel sexy and beautiful because you are a hot Mamacita and you deserve to look as rocking on the outside as you are on the inside! Let me know if you like this trend or if you’re just ready for it to go away. If you want more outfit inspiration, be sure to check out this post about Winter wear.
