The Purple Passion Fashion Extravaganza Recapped
On Friday, April 13th, I had the distinct pleasure of being invited to a fabulous showcase of some burgeoning fashion design talent in Houston. This post is a short recap of the things I experienced at the Purple Passion Fashion Show held by DDH Fashion Productions. I will be talking about the atmosphere, the designers, and of course the beautiful clothes! Before I begin the review, I would like to thank Darieus, the designer of DDH Fashion Productions (pictured above) for allowing me a sneak peek at all the fabulous things to come! All of the opinions expressed in this post are my own.
When I stepped into the Arka Art for the Purple Passion Fashion show, I was transported into a semi-gritty, undone bright white room that screamed, ‘Avant-garde’. This was the perfect locale for an haute couture fashion show to take place. The decor was subtle yet striking with the purple and floral theme carried throughout. The DJ had also hand selected some smooth tunes to set the mood for a lot of vogueing to commence! The team at DDH Fashion productions thought of everything and had prepared a carefully curated goodie bag full of assorted products from the sponsors that we could take with us as we departed.
I arrived about an hour or so before other guests so I had some time to interact with the designers, grab some food and mix and mingle. I was also really excited to be there with my blogger bestie Sandra of Mari Sabe. After finding some, “liquid courage”, offered by the amazing bar staff, Sandra and I met some other amazing bloggers and passionate fashion lovers as we settled in to be taken on a colorful adventure. What we didn’t yet know is how much of a treat we were in for.
The Purple Passion Fashion Show
Two shows in one: The Lynn Dan Brielle Opening Collection
As the emcee announced that the Purple Passion Fashion show was about to start, I became really nervous and excited. I have talked on here before about how much I love supporting local and if you want to, you can read why here. It was exciting to get to see clearly passionate people live out their dreams in real time! We had originally thought that we were there to see one show but in reality, we got two! Darieus had teamed up with Victoria of Lynn Danbrielle who opened the performances by showcasing a small collection of her gorgeous work. The perfect shades of golds and yellows were present throughout the Lynn Danbrielle collection. The fabric prints were so unique, models were so polished and professional.
Oh my gosh! Can we please talk about the yellow dress pictured below?! This yellow dress literally gave me life! It was by far and away my favorite item from the Lynn Danbrielle collection. I love the rich gold color palette and the intricate details. This piece looks expertly constructed, beautifully designed and straight out of a high fashion magazine. This model is definitely serving looks and slaying that runway! Victoria did all of the sewing herself and in her collection and that alone is an amazing feat. This designer is definitely one to watch!
DDH Fashion Productions Presents: The Purple Passion Fashion Show
After the closing of the Lynn Danbrielle collection, Darieus came out and said a few words about his major motivators and how no matter what he did, he always kept coming back to design. His brief speech was inspiring and heartfelt! After his words, I was even more eager to see the Purple Passion collection. And boy did it not disappoint. Every piece was so gorgeous and the models looked flawless. I may be a little biased because purple is one of my favorite colors, but I oohed and ahhed more and more at each new model that took the stage.
This purple dress was a stop me in my tracks showstopper. It was the perfect amount of glitz and glam without being over the top. I am a bit of a sucker for glitter and sparkles and this dress definitely had it all! I loved the silhouette of the dress and how it hugged the curves of the model without being overly revealing. This dress would be perfect for a gala or a black tie charity event. You would definitely be the belle of the ball!
Another one of my favorites from the collection was this amazing lavender romper. I think the fabric is such a rich vibrant purple and it looks like it feels so soft. I love the versatility of this piece and am obsessed with the delicate detailing on the bust. This model is definitely killing it! All in all, the whole collection was gorgeous with its various shades of purples and lilacs but these are just two that really stood out to me.
Darieus, I see great things coming for your future as a fashion designer and I wish you all the best in your next styling endeavor!
