How to look fabulous in floral
Hey, guys, I know it has been a minute since I’ve been on here but welcome back to my little corner of the internet! March is officially here which translates to outdoor fun, Spring Break vacations and fun and flirty fashion trends. A couple of weeks ago, I revealed to you one of my favorite trends being the color blush. If you want to see how to rock that color palette out this season, you can read that here.
In this post, I’ll be revealing to you another one of my favorite trends for Spring and Summer…florals! And if you think florals aren’t for you, by the end of this post I hope I will have changed your mind. There are so many ways to rock florals that I’m sure one is bound to fit your unique and individual style. Without further ado, here are my three favorite ways to rock florals and look fabulous!
1. Wrap Dress
I am absolutely in love with this wrap dress for a lot of reasons. First, it is the perfect length for us, petite ladies. It is very rare that I walk into a store and find a dress that fits this perfectly without any alternations. That being said, tall ladies, you might have to wear this more like a tunic because it is very short. Second, it is so extremely figure-flattering. It hugs all the curves in all the right places without being revealing or sleazy. Those of my less curvy ladies looking for an hourglass type effect, this will create that illusion effortlessly.
This look is perfect for a daytime brunch or shopping outing. It’s also really light and the fabric is super soft. It will be perfect for those really hot Spring and Summer days. You can dress it up with a pair of wedges like you see here. Or go for a more casual look with flats, loafers or sandals. Add a sun hat and you even have the perfect beach day cover up!
This amazing floral wrap dress is from Francesca’s, fits true to size. I am wearing an XS, for reference. I would say I tried on both the small and extra small and they fit almost exactly the same except the top was a little looser so for my bigger chested friends, I would size up.
2. Flutter Sleeve Blouse
When I saw this blouse in the store, it was love at first sight. I love the feminine details with the flutter sleeves and the floral embroidery. It is not too long for my shorter ladies either. Length stops at about hip length. There are tons of ways you could wear this one blouse and for dozens and in dozens of different settings.
I paired this shirt with some of my favorite scalloped white shorts and wedges for a fun day look. This would also look amazing with some denim capris, some white jeans or some black pants for a work-appropriate outfit, dependent on the strictness of your office dress code.
This top is from Francesca’s (lol see a pattern?) I’m wearing an XS. Again I would say for my larger chested ladies that you would want to size up in this one because it does fit snuggly in the top and is looser in the waist. Shorts are my new favorite. They are from Loft and are a size 2.
For petite ladies, rompers can really be hit or miss. I personally have a longer waist so sometimes rompers don’t hit the right spot or they give me the dreaded long butt. However, when you find one that works they can be such a great and versatile choice. The romper I have on is one of my absolute favorites, however, I’m obviously not the only person that thinks this because it’s unfortunately sold out! I have linked a lot of beautiful options below though.
A floral romper is perfect for all kinds of occasions. Music festivals, vineyards, beach vacays, etc. Find one that is a linen type fabric that will breathe if you are going to wear it for an outdoor event. The off the shoulder look is such a big trend so with this romper you’re combining three of my favorite trends: off the shoulder, floral and blush pink. You cannot go wrong!
This romper is from the Impeccable Pig and I’ve linked tons of similar choices for you to shop. I’m wearing an XS and it still fits super loose so if you are looking for a tighter fit, I would size down. Paired with my favorite pair of crochet wedges for the perfect Springtime fresh look.
Floral: The Tried and True Trend
The good thing about florals is they never truly stop being trendy! From the 1960’s to the present, people are still finding new ways to recreate floral designs to match the times. Whatever you purchase today, will still be cool next year so think of it as an investment into your fashion future! What do y’all think of florals? What other Spring trends are you excited about?
