Pretty in Pink
With February ending soon, Spring is finally upon us…well almost. I don’t know about you, but this Winter has felt endless and that’s saying something for someone who lives in Houston. I’m so ready to say goodbye to the chunky knit sweaters and dark colors and hello to florals, pastels, and sundresses! (If you aren’t totally ready to say goodbye, I have a great transition dress for you here).
My favorite color for Spring and Summer is light pink. I’ve heard this particular color called many things: Millenial pink, blush, and my personal favorite the color of rosé. Whatever you decide to call it, I am loving it! It is the perfect shade and exudes maximum girliness and femininity. To kickstart your Spring wardrobe I am going to tell you how you can style this one pink shirt three ways.
1. Work Wear
This pink shirt is absolutely perfect for the office! I love the feminine details of the ruffled sleeve and the button front. Depending on how strict your office dress code is, you could even throw a blazer over this top for a more business professional look or rock it with pants for a more business casual look. The possibilities of appropriate workwear combinations are nearly endless…well maybe that’s an exaggeration, but I digress.
I love pairing this office look with a nice pencil skirt and some black pumps for a completely polished look for the working woman! I also added my favorite accessory, my Walnut and Vintage Rose JORD Watch. Side note: If you haven’t entered the giveaway for $100 towards your own JORD watch, there is still time and you can enter here!
This lovely pink shirt is from Loft and it runs true to size, (I’m wearing an XS Regular for reference). The skirt is older but I’ll link a couple different black pencil skirt options below. Also if pumps are not your friend, black flats would look just as nice with this ensemble, plus they’d definitely be comfier!
2. Weekend Day Wear
This pink shirt is dressy enough to be work wear but also casual enough to be perfect for a daytime outfit on a Saturday or Sunday or any day for that matter! This look is comfortable and cute for whatever the day may throw at you. Whether you’re brunching with the girls or Top Golfing with the guys this outfit just works!
I paired the pink shirt with these shorts that I stumbled upon last week, also from Loft. (Do we see a pattern here?!) With the scalloped detailing, I couldn’t help but fall in love with them and they complement this pink shirt beautifully. And yes I am painfully aware that my shirt almost matches my skin color and that a spray tan and some Vitamin C is definitely calling my name!
The shorts run a little big. If you are in between sizes I would probably size down. I’m wearing a size 2 regular and I think a 0 might have still fit. Also, for my girls with curvier legs and a butt, these shorts were not tight across the legs or the butt so I was pleasantly surprised! I know how hard it can be to find shorts and pants that fit right in the waist and loose in the legs and booty, but these shorts fit the bill. For maximum comfort, I am wearing these super amazing blush collapsible loafers from Target. I highly recommend them but would size up a half size. I’m regularly a size 7 but these are a 7.5.
3. Girl’s Night Out/Date Night
For this look, I didn’t have to do too much. Just threw on some white pants and some sassy heels and this is picture perfect. Are you over the whole you can’t wear white after Labor Day thing?! Because I definitely am! You’re going to stun a date and make your friends jealous of how good you look…just kidding, kind of. Serving looks, effortlessly.
For a sassy night outfit, I paired this pink shirt with my favorite white jeans from Express. These jeans have been on repeat pretty much all Fall and Winter. I personally love that Express carries petite sizes online even though, these are not petite. These jeans are a size 4 regular and they are slightly big in the waist. Petite would have been perfect but I’m impatient and also just prefer trying clothes on in the store. If you’re an online shopper, go on with your bad self, girl!
Perfect in Pink
The best thing about this pink shirt is how versatile it is. You can take it from day to night and anything in between. I know there are tons of combinations that you could make with this shirt and I have only outlined three. All of the items in these pictures have been linked below or something very similar if the items were older. (Note: the blush platform heels are linked below but they may be linked as gray. When purchasing you would just choose the blush color.)
Let me know how you feel about this blush color. Are you all about this girly trend or is this way too much for you? Tell me in the comments and let me know which other Spring trends you’re totally stoked about.
