Five Valentine’s Day gifts he will love
So as noted in my last post, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Earlier this week I gave you the perfect dress to wear. Now you may be wondering, I just don’t know what to get my male significant other. Don’t worry babe, I got you! Whether it is your spouse, serious boyfriend, or a guy you just met on Tinder, these Valentine’s Day gifts are guaranteed to make them smile.
I’m going to share with you 5 of my favorite Valentine’s Day gifts to give the guy in my life and hopefully, your fella will enjoy them to. I tried to combine a variety of categories and price points so there should be something that works for virtually anyone.
1. New Video Game
If your significant other is a gamer, then this is the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for him. Side note, as a wife of a gamer, I feel like we should start a support group since our significant others are always online with their buddies and we might need someone to talk to. I’ll table that discussion for another time though.
A new video game can be a great way to show you care about his hobbies and interests. If you like gaming too then, bonus, it’s a gift that you can share! If you want to get him a new game and you aren’t sure what he likes, there are ways around that. Ask his friends or his sibling. They’re likely to know what game he’s had his eye on for a while.
A game usually runs around $50-$60 bucks so it isn’t going to be too hard on your budget as a Valentine’s Day gift. If you can’t find out the specific game but know that he likes video games then you can always get him a GameStop or Best Buy gift card. This will take the guesswork out of it for you and he’s guaranteed to get something he’ll enjoy.
2. Man Crate

I first came across Man Crates when I was searching for something to buy my husband for Christmas a few years ago. (Thanks Google!) Man Crates are a macho take on a gift basket. They are definitely not your mom’s gift bag from Bath and Body Works.
Each gift comes in a large crate which then has to be pried open with a tiny crow bar that they provide. The amusement you’ll receive from watching your SO try to get this open is priceless. What I like most about Man Crates is that they have tons of categories of crates to choose from. From food and drink to grilling and outdoors, there is something for everyone! The gifts are high quality and come in a timely fashion.
I got the Premium Spicy crate for my husband years ago, and he has yet to fully finish any of the hot sauces. For Father’s Day, I got my dad the Scotch customized decanter and he loved it. If you aren’t totally sure what to get your SO, just find a category he loves and go wild! With crates usually running anywhere $40-$100+, you can find something that fits in your price range easily for this Valentine’s Day gift.
3. Tickets to a Sporting Event
If your significant other is a sports fan then he would probably enjoy some tickets to a sporting event as a Valentine’s Day gift. As a sports lover, he likely has a team that he is a diehard fan for. If the team is local then you can buy a pair of tickets to go to an upcoming game. Getting him tickets for his favorite team signifies that you support his interests and want to participate in them with him.
If you aren’t sure which game he wants to go to, refer to previous response and consult his friends or family for suggestions. If you’re a baller on a budget, don’t be afraid to buy the cheap/“nosebleed” seats. The beauty of a sports arena is, usually there isn’t a bad seat. If worse comes to worse you will always be able to see the Jumbotron!
He will be grateful that you wanted to share this experience with him, regardless of price. It truly is, the thought that counts!
4. Favorite Alcoholic Beverage and Accessories
Disclaimer: In writing this, my assumption is that you and your SO are over 21. If this is not the case, please just skip and move onto number 5 on the list.
If your significant other is someone who enjoys a healthy social life and a nice drink every now and then, this may be a good Valentine’s Day gift for him.
There are so many options with this one! If your guy likes craft beer then get him a nice 6 pack and a 2 pack of Chillsners. Chillsners are a steel rod that you can stick in the freezer. After chilled, they then fit inside a standard 12 ounce beer bottle. This will keep your man’s beer cold for hours so he never has to gag down a warm beer again.
If he’s a whisky/whiskey kind of guy then you can get him a beautiful decanter and a nice bottle of his favorite brand. You can also get him a set of whisky/whiskey stones so his drink always stays cold but never gets watered down.
For any other cocktail lover, you can get him a mixology set that will equip him with the tools to make all his favorite drinks.
5. Home cooked meal/Favorite restauraunt
This is one of personal favorites because you have tons of options. You can make it as inexpensive or fancy as you wish. As the old saying goes, “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.” When you cook for your SO you are showing them you care by taking the time to prepare the meal.
If you need any cooking inspiration, I suggest Pinterest. So many recipes you can choose from and adapt to your SO’s preference. If you want it to be an activity you can share, you can take a cooking class together. This is a fun outing that you can share, with the added benefit of getting to eat!
If you don’t have that much time to cook or it just isn’t something that comes easy to you, that’s fine too! Take your SO to one of his favorite restaurants as a Valentine’s Day gift. If you’re feeling nostalgic, you can choose a place that has had sentimental value during your relationship. The great memories and good food are sure to make for a fantastic evening!

I’ve always wondered about those mancrates!! I was searching the web for Christmas gifts for my brother-in-law and stumpbled upon those but didn’t end up going for it. It looks so cool! We will most likely do a home cooked meal together and keep it pretty low-key for V-day! We love to cook together so it’s a fun way to celebrate the day!
That’s great! Yes they are so fun. Good for pretty much any occasion. My husband falls in the cynic camp for Valentine’s Day so we will probably keep it low key as well!
I LOVE the idea of the ManCrate but in the last few years I always go for experiences over material gifts so will end up with either #3 or #5.
Experiences are great too! Whatever works best for you and your loved ones!
Thank you for these tips! It´s always hard for me to find perfect gifts for men. 🙂
Very true! Buying for them can be difficult!
I love the man crate idea. Great for any age male.
Absolutely! There are so many awesome options to choose from
